Do you want to take action to support refugees?
Could you use your skills to work alongside people seeking asylum, to help make Bristol a place of sanctuary?
Bristol Hospitality Network needs someone like you to join our Board of Trustees to take a lead on our fundraising strategy, as the organisation continues to develop.
BHN extends solidarity to people seeking asylum and experiencing destitution. We provide full board accommodation in a network of host households or in our hostel for men in Bristol. We also aim to support people who are destitute asylum seekers by offering a sense of community, with practical support and volunteering opportunities.
Since BHN started over eight years ago, we have become a vibrant community of people from many nations. You can read more about our values and work at our website.
We currently have a vacancy for a Trustee with management skills and a knowledge of fundraising, who can act as our fundraising strategy lead on the board. We have diverse and sustainable funding streams, with a team of people who work on our fundraising and income generation activities on a day to day basis. This role will involve overseeing our fundraising activities and co-ordinating the activities of the other team members, to help the organisation reach its fundraising targets.
We would love to hear from you if you are interested. A role description and application form can be found below. If you have questions or would like an informal chat about the role, don’t hesitate to contact Steve on steve@bhn.org.uk
The Trustees meet once every 6-8 weeks in Bristol (7-9pm). This is an unpaid role which offers a good opportunity to develop your skills, as well being involved in something very rewarding. Plus there’s also often great food at our meetings and social events!
Closing date for applications: 4th September 2017.
