Bristol Refugee Rights
set up as a voluntary organisation in 2005 to uphold and champion the human rights of asylum seekers and refugees. Provides a place of welcome in Bristol where asylum seekers and refugees can meet and be supported to play a full part in the life of the wider community and also campaigns for the human rights of refugees and asylum seekers. Provides ESOL classes (volunteer teachers), advocacy and information and volunteering opportunities.
Borderlands Bristol works especially with people seeking asylum in the UK or who have become a refugee from other countries; Drop-in is on Mondays and Tuesdays with ESOL, hot lunch and support.
Bristol City of Sanctuary
BHN is proud to give its support to the city of sanctuary movement and to be based in Bristol recently launched as a city of sanctuary after much hard work from many organisations and its steering group, alongside local politicians. It’s time to make the pledges a reality. Bristol is not just a city of words but also of action!
works with the food industry to minimise fit-for-purpose fresh, frozen and long-life food going to waste as landfill, and send this food into organisations (including us) working with the most vulnerable people in the community. We love them!
